Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) detachments are created to provide active duty Marines which serve in critical billets, reserve counterparts who can hold those active duty billets when required. The primary focus for P/WST Marines is to master the six Readiness Support Program (RSP) functional areas that are entrusted to site support staff, pre-mobilization. Those functional areas are as follows:

1. Family Readiness, Assistance and Support
2. Site Facilities Maintenance
3. Community Outreach
4. Casualty Assistance
5. Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA)
6. Demobilization Preparation and Support

SLOWLY THINGS ARE TURNING AROUND. WE CAN ONLY ATTACK A COUPLE AREAS AT A TIME. THIS WAY WE DON’T HAVE A BUNCH OF SMALL PROJECTS WITH NO COMPLETION STAMPS. CURRENTLY, WE ARE WORKING ON COLLATERAL DUTIES AND APPOINTMENT LETTERS. LICENSING IS ANOTHER PROJECT. WE’RE CRAWLING, BUT MOVING.

LONG RANGE GOAL: TRY TO GET 5 HMMWV’S FOR TRAINING PURPOSES. SHOULD THIS BECOME REALITY, YOUR DRILL WEEKENDS AT SACRAMENTO MARINE CORPS RESERVE UNIT WILL DEFINITELY CHANGE! ACTUAL WRENCH TIME WILL COME.

ONCE WE POUND OUT THIS BIG WRINKLES, WE CAN FINE TUNE EVERYTHING

Motor Transport Maintenance

Providing and performing “A SERVICE TO MARINES AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS” (i.e., one stop shopping for personnel and pay issues).

The effective use of available administrative personnel and equipment to support the personnel administration system. A related goal is to enhance administrative quality control through improved supervision by administrative officers and SNCO’s.

Administration

Historically, the company/battery/section was the basic administrative unit of the Marine Corps administrative system. In June 1978, the Commandant of the Marine Corps approved the recommendation to implement battalion level (consolidated) administration for all FMF ground units with the squadron remaining as the reporting unit for all FMF aviation units. Consolidation of personnel administration at the battalion level is considered the most efficient method for accomplishing our administrative mission with the available resources. It allows commanders and administrators the flexibility to tailor personnel to the unique mission of the organization. This administrative guidance is considered appropriate for application in both ground and aviation organizations of the FMF and throughout the supporting establishment wherever consolidated administrative is performed and for all Marine Corps reporting units.

The term “organization” is used to represent the battalion/squadron level of operation. The term “unit” is used to represent the command/staff levels subordinate to the battalion/squadron; i.e., company/battery/section.
