Mission of PWST

The Peacetime/Wartime Support Team (P/WST) program exists to provide a trained and capable staff at each site that can provide a seamless transition of command and control upon mobilization, and ultimately, allow as many active component personnel as possible to be integrated into SMCR Table of Organization or make them available for global sourcing in time of war.

Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) detachments are created to provide active duty Marines which serve in critical billets, reserve counterparts who can hold those active duty billets when required. The primary focus for P/WST Marines is to master the six Readiness Support Program (RSP) functional areas that are entrusted to site support staff, pre-mobilization. Those functional areas are as follows:

  1. Family Readiness, Assistance and Support
  2. Site Facilities Maintenance
  3. Community Outreach
  4. Casualty Assistance
  5. Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA)
  6. Demobilization Preparation and Support
